i had this dream. I was recently married and I was in my living room and it was night time but through the window it looked extremley bright. So I looked out the window and saw the brightest whitest moon I've ever seen. My first thought was Artemis. But something inside me was telling me it was hecate. I turned to my husband again but he was gone and instead this tall woman with dark long hair and green eyes that appeared almost black appeared in front of me. Her voice felt endless. Then she said "i heard you had an alter child." I do have an alter for her. Then she says. "Come show me your alter." Then we begin walking and come up to two doors(cross roads). I try opening the door on the left, and it's dark and whispers come from it and she says "not that door" and as I begin to close it a tabby cat comes out and goes to her. Then I go to the door on the right, and I'm suddenly in an aprtment who belonges to someone i knew that had passed. But she was alive and taking care of these three girls: oldest, middle, and infant. I've never seen these girls. Then i'm with the girls in grand central. I've never been to grand central. But it felt like i've been there before. There's a broadcast happening and I see people in the distance as if I knew them. Then choas happens and then I'm back out the door. Then she's looking at me like she's assessing me and then she's back to asking me about the alter.
Dreams involving powerful imagery and symbolic elements can be quite profound, and yours holds several significant symbols and themes, offering potential insights into your subconscious mind and life experiences. Let's break down the elements of your dream for a detailed interpretation:
Marriage and Living Room: Being recently married may symbolize a new beginning or a significant transition in your life. The living room represents your personal space, a place of comfort and familiarity. The nighttime setting but with a bright window could symbolize the presence of new insights or revelations in your personal life.
The Bright Moon: The moon is often associated with intuition, emotions, and the subconscious. Seeing an extremely bright moon could indicate heightened awareness or an important revelation. The reference to Artemis, the Greek goddess of the moon and wilderness, versus Hecate, often associated with magic, witchcraft, and the crossroads, suggests a spiritual or inner conflict between different aspects of yourself or forces in your life.
The Tall Woman: The appearance of a tall woman with dark features may symbolize a powerful or authoritative feminine presence, perhaps your inner self or a guiding figure in your life. Her mentioning of “alter child” directly connects with the idea of an inner or spiritual journey, acknowledging your devotion or efforts in a particular spiritual or personal development practice.
Crossroads and Two Doors: Crossroads often symbolize decisions or critical choices in life. The two doors represent different paths or opportunities. The left door, associated with darkness and whispers, could symbolize an unknown or less ideal choice, which you are cautioned against. The tabby cat passing might represent intuition or independence leading you away from this dark path.
The Door on the Right - Apartment and Girls: Entering an apartment belonging to someone who has passed signifies revisiting past experiences or unresolved issues. The presence of the three girls you’ve never seen could symbolize new aspects of yourself or new stages of life (innocence, development, and care). Being in Grand Central, a crossroads symbol again, where you felt familiarity, might indicate your journey through life and destiny.
Chaos and Return: The chaos you witnessed might reflect internal or external conflicts and the transitions these bring. Returning to find the woman assessing you suggests self-reflection and evaluation of your current state in life. Her returning to the subject of the altar signifies a deep focus on spirituality or belief systems and their role in your life.
Overall Interpretation: This dream highlights a period of reflection and transformation for you, potentially involving spiritual or emotional growth. It’s an exploration of choices and paths, guided by inner wisdom or spiritual forces. The themes of alter and guidance affirm a journey towards self-discovery, reconciliation with past influences, and re-evaluation of life choices. Consider focusing on your intuition and seeking clarity in decisions, paying heed to inner guidance, much like the talismanic influence of Hecate at the crossroads.
